Food

Food: Sattvic & Healthy

What we eat, not only influences our physical well-being, but also our emotions and thoughts. Yoga does not dissect food into proteins, carbohydrates or fats, instead, it classifies them according to the effect they have on the body and mind, into three types. – Sattva, Rajas and Tamas

Sattvic Food Is The Kind That Makes You Feel Energetic & Enthusiastic.

Rajasic Food Is That Which Brings About Activity Or Restlessness.

Tamasic Food Is The Kind Of Food That Makes Us Lethargic Or Sluggish.

We prefer the small class size of 10-15 students per batch. It helps to maintain the satisfaction rate of both teachers and students as well.

The 100 Hour YTTC at Sanskriti Yogpeeth is a shorter, beginner-friendly introduction to yoga asana, pranayama, meditation and philosophy, ideal if you want to deepen your personal practice or test the waters before a longer program. The 200 Hour course is the internationally recognized entry-level teacher training that leads to Yoga Alliance RYT 200 registration, while the 300 Hour course is an advanced program for students who have already completed 200 hours. Many of our 100 Hour graduates go on to join our 200 Hour course.

No prior experience is required. The 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is designed as a beginner-level program, so students arrive with a wide range of backgrounds, from complete newcomers to those with a small home practice. Our teachers build the course from the fundamentals of breath, alignment and asana, so as long as you come with an open mind, a reasonable level of fitness and a genuine interest in yoga, you will be able to follow along and progress through the syllabus.

The 100 Hour program itself is certified directly by Sanskriti Yogpeeth rather than registered as a stand-alone Yoga Alliance level, since Yoga Alliance's teacher training tiers begin at 200 hours. However, completing the 100 Hour course makes you eligible to continue straight into our Yoga Alliance-affiliated 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, which does carry RYT 200 registration, so it works well as a stepping stone toward an internationally recognized qualification.

Days at Sanskriti Yogpeeth follow a structured rhythm based on traditional yogic routine. Mornings usually begin around 6 am with pranayama, followed by an asana class, then breakfast and rest. The rest of the day includes sessions on yoga philosophy, anatomy and Ayurveda, and alignment and adjustment practice, with meals and short breaks in between. Evenings often include further practice or self-study time, giving students a full but balanced daily schedule throughout the course in Rishikesh.

Rishikesh is one of the most visited yoga and pilgrimage towns in India and welcomes large numbers of solo and female travelers from around the world every year. As a residential student at Sanskriti Yogpeeth you stay within our school campus alongside fellow students, which adds an extra layer of comfort. As with travel anywhere, we recommend the usual common-sense precautions, and our team is happy to share local guidance once you arrive.

Rishikesh has a pleasant climate for much of the year, and autumn through spring, roughly October to April, tends to be the most comfortable period, with cooler mornings and clear skies along the Ganges. Summer months can get quite hot, and the monsoon season brings heavy rainfall. That said, new batches for the 100 Hour YTTC start twice a month year-round, so you can choose whichever season suits your travel plans best.
